President's Letter (2017)

Greetings everyone,

My name is Felecia Binns. I am your 2017 GEORGIA SGNA president, Region 17. I would like to THANK  all the members  for allowing me to hold this position. If you are not a member PLEASE join. The year has already been up and running so very fast.  I began my  GI journey in 1981 at Grady Memorial Hospital.  Back then, fiberoptic endoscopes were the top of the line with the infamous teaching attachment.  The next several decades has brought about welcomed changes in technology, instrumentation, and didactic skills. The demand for staff to be become educated and proficient was  on the horizon in the field of gastroenterology and endoscopy. We as nurses and associates, have come  along way on this GI journey. But there is always room for improvement and growth. SGNA offers a mirad of opportunities and support. to increase your knowledge base and to help your be more confident in what you do everyday.  The SGNA National Conference, which will be held in New Orleans, May 5-9th, is an excellent  chance for you and your peers  from across the nation to come share and learn best practices to help you to be all you can be and succeed

The  2017 Annual State Conference will be held September 8, 9, and 10th, at the Peachtree City Hotel and Conference in Peachtree, City Georgia. THERE WILL BE AN ERCP BOOT CAMP ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 8th!!!!! Make your plans now to attend this conference. It is sure to provide valuable information that will only enhance your skills and knowledge in GI.

I  am so excited about seeing each and everyone of you !! Just remember Georgia SGNA IS HERE FOR YOU PLEASE plan to join, participate and get involved in the MANY divisional, state,  national positions and educational opportunities that were made just for YOU!!!

Felecia Binns,
